Melissa A. Cidade, M.A., is the Director of CARA's Pastoral Assistance Surveys and Services (PASS), and holds a Master's Degree in Sociology from The Catholic University of America.

Methodologically, Melissa specializes in qualitative data collection and analysis methods, as well as question development and survey design. Her work has focused on Catholic education from K through Postsecondary, parish life, and young adult Catholics. Recent CARA research includes data collection and analysis for the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), parishes across the United States, and diocesan-level focus groups.

Most previously, Melissa was the research associate for the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU). Additionally, Melissa has worked as a survey specialist at Mathematica Policy Research and as a statistician for the U.S. Census Bureau's Statistical Research Division's Center for Survey Methods Research (CSMR).
